Junior Youth Empowerment Program
A community-based spiritual empowerment program for Junior Youth ages 11-14.
PURPOSE:
To release the intellectual and spiritual powers of young adolescents (ages 11-15) and direct them towards service to humanity. The Junior Youth Empowerment Program gives junior youth the tools they need to create spiritually-centered lives while nurturing their capacity to tap into their creativity and sense of advocacy.
Core Components
A Junior Youth group is formed through a group who meet regularly to:
Study materials to enhance their powers of expression.
Complete service projects initiated by the Junior Youth.
Engage in cultural activities.
Foster fellowship through games and recreation.
A Nurturing Community
Every group has an Animator—a young adult who works to nurture meaningful conversation, promote service to their community, and facilitate recreational activities that build community.
Together, they read materials to nurture expression and problem-solving through language and the arts. Moral concepts are inspired by the Bahá’í teachings but are not religious in nature, nor do they treat subjects specific to the Bahá’í Faith. Many organizations across the globe, including academic institutions, find them useful for their educational programs with junior youth.
